About nikijon

The entire production chain for nikijon starts and ends in Los Angeles. We use a set of small factories that specialize in different items--trouser factories for pants, jacket factories for jackets. We use expert pattern makers and sample makers to realize ideas and make initial drafts. We source materials from all over the world, from countries such as Japan, Italy, England, and the United States. We employ the best in LA, embodying true slow-fashion principles, to bring you staple goods that will last you years.

Nikijon was a contemporary womenswear line in the late 1990s to early 2000s, featured in department stores and small boutiques around the U.S.. Today, it is a menswear line that references designs of the original collection.

Gene Berk is "too old to deal with designing", so he sticks to overseeing production and offering creative insight. His two sons, whom the brand was named after, are now responsible for the executive decisions on this second go.
